Hagerty insurance pictures required

Our program is not designed to provide coverage for vehicles while they’re being raced. We do offer off-track coverage for motorsports vehicles, however, along with HPDE/Track Day coverage.

Do you accept vehicles under restoration?

Yes. We offer coverage on vehicles being actively restored. See vehicles under restoration for more information. We also offer extra coverage and services for vehicles being restored or built. For more details, see Vehicle Under Construction.

Do you need to see photos of each vehicle during the application process?

Yes and it varies depending on the type of vehicle. We need one good photo for stock (original) vehicles, showing a full side view of the car. We need four photos for custom or modified vehicles (full vehicle, engine, interior, and trunk or bed, if it's a truck). Two photos are required for classic pickups (full vehicle and truck bed).

How many years of driving experience are required?

Our program guidelines require that every driver must be fully licensed, with no state imposed restrictions (such as a suspension). Operators of motorcycles and high-performance vehicles must be licensed a minimum of 10 years.

What are your usage restrictions/guidelines?

Simply put, we want you to enjoy your classic vehicle. While there are some restrictions in the policy, you’re covered for pleasure use, whether it's a drive on a gorgeous summer day, a trip to the ice cream shop, attending club events or going to shows. If you have specific questions about usage, especially if you own a newer vehicle (generally 1990 and newer), we're happy to discuss them with you.

When is an appraisal required?

We typically do not require appraisals. If we need further documentation supporting a vehicle's value, we will contact you during the underwriting process.

Who can drive my car? Can my children drive it?

It’s up to your discretion who you allow to drive your car. Just keep in mind, the same acceptable usage that applies to you applies to everyone who drives it. While Hagerty supports youth involvement in the hobby, our program guidelines requires that every driver must be fully licensed, with no state imposed restrictions (such as a suspension). Please call a licensed sales agent to discuss your specific situation.

This is only a general description of coverage. All coverage is subject to policy provisions, exclusions and endorsements.
